Why you should monetize your blog?

These days, everyone seems to be blogging on his/her topics of interest. Blogging has been sought after very much for making money because it is probably the easiest way for making money over the web. Blogging for passion is good all the way, but what harm does it do if it can generate bucks for you without having to put more effort?

I come across many blogs everyday and of every breed. Sometimes I get amazed to see some blogs that are so good feeding in great content but without a single ad on them. I speculate, those blogs must be receiving fairly good amount of traffic from search engines (and hopeflly other sources too). I found a certain pattern while observing such blogs; such blogs that are without any ads are mainly the ones on lifestyle, health and other aspects of the social life. These days lots of blogs on the most common and profusely discussed niche like blogging, making money online, technology etc. have sprouted up in a large number and the competition seems to be really tough.

There is no denying to the fact that most of the blogs today are either Make Money Online (MMO) blogs or Technology blogs and they are no-doubt the most competitve niche. So, blogging on topics about social life, lifestyle or any similar category will be far less competitive for sure. So, monetizing such blogs can also yeild a handsome amount.

It doesn't matter what a blog is about, you can hope to get some Search Engine traffic for it and expect visitors to make you money out of the ads. Everyday, Google handles somewhere around 300 million searches that is about 60. And not to forget, there are other search engines as well that make up the whole. So imagine, in such a large number of queries, there exist queries on almost any topic. So don't worry what your blog is about; just start monetizing your blog follow some basic rules of SEO and see the visitors pour to your site from the search engines.

Well I might be driving you nuts mentioning about Search Engines and Search Engine traffic all the time. But believe me, Search Engine traffic is the real traffic and the traffic that can help you make money. All other sources of traffic like the ones from Digg, Blogcatalog are not much convertible when it comes to monetizing a blog.

Programs like Adsense help you make money when a visitor clicks on the ad served on your blog. There isn't any evil monetizing your blog with such programs and you will be equally nice to your valued readers. The ads won't bother them(unless you put them up very grotesquely). So, if a visitor happens to click on a ad, some cents will drop in your account. Is there any bad doing this?
